FEBA Sawing Systems for
Protection Film Tapes
FEBA sawing systems were designed to cut logs of protection film tapes from reels wound in polyethelene and polypropelene, coated and non coated plastic films, silicone papers and similar materials. There are three models available in the FEBA sawing line based on levels of production; 1) Single Knife Saw Systems with one saw blade and one fixed or rotating mandrel, 2) Three-Head Sawing Machines too cut one log simultaneously with three saw blades & 3) Star System-with three shafts and one-three saw heads for non-stop production. Working widhts up too 2.800mm and diameters up too 550mm. All FEBA sawing machines come standard with AC brushless motors (Level 4) or Linear Motors (Level 5) for carriage displacement, 10" color touchscreen which controls all the slitting parameters with recipe recall and a dust extraction system.

FEBA Single Knife Sawing Machine- The FEBA single knife saw machine is equipped with one single rotating saw blade and one fixed or rotating mandrel. This series is available in two versions; the model F400 which can accomodate logs up too 400mm and the model F500 which can cut rolls up too 500mm. Working widths available from 1.600 up to 2.200mm with a standard core ID of 3". The standard sonar to register the OD of the log and laser to read the OD of the blade make this a highly versatile machine to cut various diameters and widths. An optional hydraulic lift in line with the mandrel can be added to aid in loading and unloading the material. Other available options include the automatic pneumatic shaft holder device, automatic front door lifting device & automatic blade holder positioning system.

FEBA 3-Head Sawing Machine - The FEBA 3-Head Sawing Machine was designed to cut logs of protection film tapes 2.800mm in width with diameters ranging from 150mm--550mm. The first cutting head is fixed while the other two are mobile to suit the different cutting widths. The slitting heads are positioned on precision ground linear bearings, providing low friction travel & optimum accuracy. The displacement of the mobile slitting heads are performed by either brushless motors (Level 4) or linear motors (Level 5) that guarantee precision and rapid positioning. Two chromed rolls hold the log in place while a 3 kW AC motor allows a variable speed adjustment from 10-500 RPM. The machine is completely enclosed with lexan guarding and as an option an automatic front door lifting device can be added. All material/slitting recall data is stored in the Industrial PLC type OMRON 10" Touchscreen capable of storing 400 different recipes. A modem connection comes standard for immediate factory intervention should the need arise.

FEBA "Star" 3-Shaft Sawing System-The FEBA "Star" sawing system is a non-stop production machine for cutting a variety of protection film tapes up too 2.200mm in width & 400mm in outside diameter. The 3 fixed shafts are canti-levered and installed on a rotary star and rotation (120 degrees) is performed by a brushless motor which guarantees micrometric precision. The first shaft is being loaded, while the 2nd shaft holds the log being cut and the 3rd shaft holds the cut material for the unload position. There are two saw blade carriages fitted too the machine; the lower movable sawing head is positioned on precision ground linear bearings for low friction travel & optimum accuracy (brushless motors gurantees precision & rapid positioning) and the upper sawing head is fixed, positioned on the right hand side of the machine. The two heads can work together, with the possibility to exclude the fixed one. The cutting system is guranteed by a linear actuator with brushless motors that enables linear and slow penetration speed to obtain precise & accurate cut. The saw blade penetration speeds are also driven by an AC brushless motor with proportional increment to the logs diameter; acquisition of the logs diameter is registered via sonar. The cutting operation is completely automatic; the operator only has to load and unload the rolls. In addition, the diameter identification of the loaded roll is fully automatic and execution of the working program recalled through the OMRON Industrial PLC. A modem connection is also standard on the FEBA "Star" System.
